Equipment Requirements
Milton Youth Lacrosse requires the following equipment for all of our boys or co-ed teams.
- Lacrosse Helmet (Players at the K-2 level can use a hockey helmet instead)
- Mouth Guard (Milton Youth Lacrosse will provide)
- Shoulder pads (hockey shoulder pads can be used instead of lacrosse shoulder pads)
- Elbow pads
- Gloves
- Protective cup (girls must have a pelvic protector)
- Cleats
- Lacrosse stick (boys)
Equipment requirements for the U15 and K-4 Girls Learn to Play are as follows:
- Googles
- Mouth Guard (Milton Youth Lacrosse will provide)
- Protective pelvic protector
- Cleats
- Lacrosse stick (girls)
- Gloves (these are optional but nice when the weather is cooler)
A FEW NOTES:
Proper fit of a helmet is important. The protective characteristics of a helmet are greatly reduced if improperly fit to the player. We only recommend purchasing a helmet online if you are sure of the size and style that fits your player best. Kevin Smith’s has qualified people on staff and their prices are very competitive.
Dick’s Sporting Goods and Kevin Smith’s offer a starter package for new players (depending upon their size). This can provide a pretty good savings to purchasing each item separately.
More expensive equipment will not make someone a better player!
Comfort is important.
